The Ag Council Committee is responsible for attending the Ag Council meetings and acting as representatives for RINLA at those meetings. They shall keep the Ag Council current on what RINLA is doing and what it is planning to accomplish.
Consists of the Treasurer and the member in charge of the group insurance programs. They shall be responsible for keeping an up to date list of the members enrolled in the insurance programs and any other benefit program, and collecting premiums.
Certification is responsible for planning examinations, and the long term planning of examination dates and examination guidelines. In addition, they shall plan implement training programs for exams, monitor, and grade exams and notify applicants of exam results.
The Education Committee is responsible for planning the program of the two-day Short Course, with the presentation of the final program to the Executive Committee no later than the September meeting of the Executive Committee.
The Ethics Committee is responsible for upholding the standards of the Association. They will mediate any charges of unethical practice and report their findings to the Executive Committee.
The Flower Show Exhibit Committee is responsible for the planning and execution of the Association's annual Rhode Island Flower Show Exhibit. They also staff and maintain the exhibit throughout the Rhode Island Flower Show and act as spokespeople to the general public for the Association.
The Landscape Comittee is responsible for providing continuing education to the landscape and maintenance members by conducting 4 meetings and/or work sessions or seminars per year. They are responsible for handling logistics of these meetings - arranging for speakers, locating meeting sites, and notify the Publicity Committee chairperson so publicity can be prepared.
The Legislative Committee will, under the direction of the Executive Committee, suggest desirable legislation, and represent the Association in all legislative matters and matters which shall concern the relations of the Association or its members with the United States of America, or any state, or any subdivision or official thereof. They will advise the Executive Committee on course of action regarding pending legislation, and will give a report to the membership at the Annual Meeting on legislation affective or having bearing on the industry. The Vice President shall serve the coordinator of the Legislative Committee.
The Membership Committee is responsible for soliciting and collecting applications and verifying credentials of applicants to be sure applicants for active membership earn more than half of their income from the nursery profession and that they are ethical and professional business people. The committee shall forward all approved applications to the Executive Committee for final action. The chairperson will preside over the formal initiation of applicants at the Annual Meeting. The junior member of the Executive Committee will serve as coordinator of the Membership Committee.
The Mulch Committee is responsible for interviewing mulch company participants in our mulch program. They make recommendations to the Executive Committee. They are also responsible for improving membership participation in the program.
Consists of the immediate Past President, the current President, and the current Vice President. They prepare a slate of officers for the ensuing years by 45 days prior to the Annual Meeting. They shall post the slate of officers on the morning of the Annual Meeting.
The Publicity Committee has charge of all of the publicity of the Association in all its forms. It arranges photography of proceedings of all Association functions. They notify local newspapers of dates and times of the Short Course, Annual Meeting, other committee meetings and meritorious notations of the Assocation. The Vice President shall serve as coordinator of the Publicity Committee.
The Resolution Committee consists of one member, the freshman member of the Executive Committee. He or she is responsible for sending flowers or other remembrances to families of deceased members. He or she is also responsible.
The Scholarship Committee is responsible for determining and preparing written guidelines for selecting the recepients for scholarships awarded by the Association. They receive and review all scholarship applications and make recommendations to the Executive Committee, who makes the final selection of recipients pursuant to the guidelines.
The Site Committee selects the site of the Annual Meeting and of any other social functions, and arrange for catering and any other details needed for maing the events a success. Final approval of contractual agreements is made by the Executive Committee.
